Have you ever wondered how rockstars seem to always have this flair for creating a personality that is magnetic? It seems like it just comes off so naturally doesn’t it? Well it’s because they are authentic to who they are. As brands we get to create the same personality but it takes deciding. You are the creator of your brand voice!
Brand personality is the emotion that it will evoke among it’s customers and in turn it becomes associated with that brand. The persona you create should reflect your audience. Don’t confuse your brand personality with brand identity. There’s a distinctive difference here. Brand identity is the colors, logos, visuals, topography or any form of communication you will use in conjunction to reinforce your personality.
Pick An Emotion
Before you jump into this blindly, make sure you do a bit of soul searching. Understand who your brand really is. Most brands will fall into 1 of 5 personalities (or the opposite of): sincerity, excitement, competence, sophistication and ruggedness.
Consistency Is Key
Whatever the emotion your brand represents make sure your brand’s voice is consistent. This means your web presence, social media platforms, and printed materials clearly expresses this emotion that your customers can easily connect with.
Educate Your People
The key is that this takes time and patience. Once you’ve established your personality you now have to educate your customers about your product. Not only do you have to educate customers but also your team. They will be at the forefront of conveying your brand to the world.
Create A Rockin’ Experience
This can be created through videos, blogs, live demos, or conversations with your customers. It show people what your brand is about without you having to be overtly pushy or come off as a skeevy salesperson.
Celebrity endorsements are a plus
If you can get a celebrity to be a face to your brand this can help boost your brand name and generate a large buzz around your product.
